I think this time would have been better served focusing on Hanna and Jake’s budding relationship. I wish Hunting would have taken her time exploring Hanna and Jake’s relationship before jumping into the pregnancy.Ī lot of page time is dedicated to the characters coming to grips with the pregnancy, which I thought was appropriate however I think too much time was given to Ryan’s feelings. There were only a handful of chapters at the beginning of the novel that explored their developing relationship before Hanna found out she was pregnant. The reason I rated A Kiss for a Kiss three stars instead of four (other than the pregnancy trope) was because Hanna and Jake’s chemistry wasn’t fully explored. Whenever this trope pops up in a book, it usually goes down in my estimation. A Kiss for a Kiss features the surprise pregnancy trope, which is a storyline I dislike immensely. Helena Hunting is an automatic buy author for me, so I applied for the ARC without reading the synopsis.
